牛刀小試——暗示、轉折、引申類概述
　　這類題一般是根據對話雙方談話所涉及的內容，問話人提問某一方對某事、某人、某物的態度和看法，其特點是考生無法從對話中直接得到答案，而是透過對話內容的暗示、轉折或引申推斷出正確答案。所以此類題難度最大，歷年出題頻率也很高。做這類題要格外認真，盡快抓住四個選項的共同點，對所聽的內容進行歸納、分析、 判斷。
　　暗示題2004.1
　　M: I like the color of this shirt, do you have a larger size?
　　W: This is the largest in this color, other colors come in all sizes.
　　Q: What does the woman imply?
　　A) The man could buy a shirt of a different color.
　　B) The size of the shirt is all right for the man.
　　C) The size the man wants will arrive soon.
　　D) The man could come some time later.
　　【解析】 通過A、B、C三個選項都有關于shirt的大小或顏色，所以你應該馬上聯想起顏色類：紅red、藍blue、綠green、黃yellow及尺寸大large、小small等詞匯,在原文中女士表明這種顏色的shirt是最大碼，其他顏色的有各種尺寸，言外之意：男士可以選擇其他的顏色，所以選A。其他選項與原文不符。
　　轉折題
　　W: The letter we received yesterday says that John is expecting to arrive here at six o’clock.
　　M: I hope so. But I’m afraid that we won’t be able to meet him at the airport.

　　B) John well arrive by train.

　　【解析】 原文中女士說到昨天收到John的信說6點會來，故排除A，男士說話中but后面是此題的核心：他不能去機場去接John，所以選D，B、C不攻自破。
　　引申題
　　W: Tom! I thought you wouldn’t come for this party.
　　M: Such a party animal like me wouldn’t come? Wild horses couldn’t keep me away!

　　【預測】 通過選項分析此題關于he去否，出現animal、horse讓人匪夷所思。是不是很怪，好好聽題吧。
　　【解析】 女士說沒想到Tom會去晚會，Tom回答說wild horse couldn’t keep me away是句諺語，意思是野馬也擋不住我來，言下之意，他肯定會來，所以選C，其他都不對。
